Officers from Staffordshire Moorlands Local Policing Team (LPT) will be joining Biddulph residents on their local bus route.
Once a month an officer, or Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) will travel on the bus, increasing visibility and accessibility to the community.
PC Lorraine Bowman, who has teamed up with bus companies First PMT and Bakers to initiate the scheme, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for officers to engage with all members of the community who use the buses, including the elderly and young parents.
“Officers will carry a high visibility backpack and will be distributing crime prevention advice and policing information. They will also be able to answer questions and discuss any concerns that bus users might have.”
The scheme will start week commencing Monday 28 May, from Wharf Road in the town centre.
