Kidsgrove Athletic put up a brave fight in the FA Cup against Bradford Park Avenue, however it was not to be Kidsgrove Athletics day as they ended up losing 0-2. A packed Seddon Stadium which recorded the best attendance since 1998 of over 1100 people watched Kidsgrove put in a good display in a tight first half, which ended 0-0.
It was a goal in second half by Bradford Park Avenue which was the turning point in the match. Kidsgrove did have a chance to score almost instantly after conceding, however it wasn’t to be their day as the shot rebounded off the post and out to safety. As the game wore on, Kidsgrove were pusihing on more and more, whilst Bradford Park Avenue looked more comfortable. It was a 2nd goal towards the end of the match which was the killer blow and shattered the FA Cup first round dreams of Kidsgrove Athletic.
Overall it has been an amazing FA Cup run for Kidsgrove and they need to now take that form into their future league matches. Kidsgrove will be no doubt hoping to attract some of today’s crowd back for future games.
