It appears form the latest news articles that have been published that Kidsgrove residents will need to get used to having the swimming pool at Kidsgrove Leisure Centre closed for a good while yet.
The problems at Kidsgrove Leisure Centre all happened when the roof over the swimming pool got damaged in the bad weather that we have had recently. Rain has seeped through the roof and caused the inside ceiling to fall in. This clearly is a major problem and something that will take a good while to fix.
There have been some residents of Kidsgrove worried that the pool may never open again, however we believe this is not the case. It is however forecast that Kidsgrove swimming pool will remain closed for a good few months yet. It appears that the reason for some of this closure is due to Newcastle Borough Council and Clough Hall Technology School establishing who actually has ownership of the building. This complex agreement will no doubt delay any progress and makes swimming difficult for residents of Kidsgrove.
Swimming provision is being provided for at Newcastle at the moment, however many residents will just want to see Kidsgrove open sooner, rather than later.
