Kidsgrove residents who voted in our online poll overwhelmingly have voiced their concern at the award of £990 of Kidsgrove tax payers funds to The Friends of Talke Library Group.
This award of £990 to The Friends of Talke Library group from the Labour controlled Kidsgrove Town Council has become a controversial issue with many Kidsgrove residents disgusted at the fact that no one from Kidsgrove Town Council or The Friends of Talke Library group confirming what the funds will actually be used for. We have made requests for details and received no comment back, not that we are surprised.
What is known and was reported in The Sentinel was that The Friends of Talke Library group propose to spend £500 of local residents money bringing in a guest speaker and the rest on some art classes. We also know that Kidsgrove Town Mayor Kyle Robinson fully supports the bid, maybe he knows more details how your money is actually going to be spent.
What many residents will be alarmed at will be the blatant lack of communication from anyone within The Friends of Talke Library group. Surly if they are to have £990 of Kidsgrove residents funds then they should at least show the decency to explain what it will be used for?
This information must surly be in the public domain and have been presented to Kidsgrove Town Council when they were making the decision to hand over such a large sum of our money.
