Appeal after Fatal Collision

Whitehill OnlinePolice officers are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Kidsgrove.

The collision happened at around 6.40am today, Thursday 13 March, in Liverpool Road East near the junction with Gloucester Road, Kidsgrove, and involved a HGV and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 49-year-old man from Kidsgrove, suffered serious injuries and sadly died upon arrival at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Officers are in the process of informing his family and will be offering them support at this difficult time.

The road remained closed between the junction of Congelton Road South and the Red Bull traffic lights until just before 11am while specially trained officers carried out an investigation at the scene.

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Andy Hogan at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 48 of March 13.
