Kidsgrove PCSO Damian Wright and Friends of Clough Hall Park are celebrating success after a fantastic attendance for the first event of the free summer activities which had been planned for Kidsgrove residents.
The activities have been planned to address anti-social behaviour which takes place during the school holidays, mainly blamed on young people claiming to be bored. PCSO Damian Wright delivered over 5000 leaflets locally, with The Friends of Clough Hall Park securing funding to purchase the equipment to make the events possible.
Yesterday saw over 250 young people attend the first one of the planned events. Many parents and grandparents said that it was great to be able to watch their youngsters enjoying themselves and to have family picnics in the Park. The beautiful sunshine was a bonus.
A big thank you should also go out to Tesco in Kidsgrove who provided cool refreshments in the summer sunshine.
The Police are often criticised but they undertake many activities for which they are not given credit. This is one occasion where PCSO Damian Wright can be whole heartedly congratulated on his energy, ideas and compassion for the youngsters in our community.
