On 13 June Staffordshire Libraries will begin work to introduce a brand new computer library management system. This will be installed at Kidsgrove library as well as others all over the county.
Once this work is complete there will be several new benefits to our customers, including a smartphone app allowing handheld access to the library catalogue and account information, a more interactive and visually appealing catalogue allowing customers to review and rate books they have borrowed and online reminders for nearly-due books for those people who have supplied an email address.
This work will cause some disruption to some services until early July. The online catalogue and 24 hour telephone renewal line will be unavailable during this period and it will not be possible to make reservations. In order to smooth the process, everyone is encouraged to bring their library cards with them whenever they visit the library. For further information and to renew library items, please contact your library. Please have your library card number and item numbers available for renewing.
As a one-off gesture to mitigate the impact on residents during the changeover, there will be a fines amnesty from 25th June to 15th July. Any item no matter how long overdue may be returned to the library without charge during this period.
