Former Kidsgrove Councillor Appeals Conviction

Former Kidsgrove Councillor Kyle-Noel TaylorFormer Kidsgrove and Newcastle-Borough-Councillor Kyle-Noel Taylor has appealed his conviction for attacking his ex-girlfriend. Kyle-Noel Taylor was sentenced to 6 months in a Young Offenders Institute after falling to successfully appeal his conviction in the first instance. He has now appealed to have the case heard at the High Court, after spending 8 weeks in Brinsford Young Offenders Institution in Wolverhampton.

Kyle-Noel Taylor told The Sentinel that he felt he had been treated in an unjust manner and wanted to clear his name and get on with his life. His case is being partly funded by legal aid and the bill is estimated to be already above the £3,000 mark. If he is unsuccessful in his appeal Kyle-Noel Taylor could risk being jailed for up to 2 years.

Kyle-Noel Taylor admits that he should have resigned from Kidsgrove and Newcastle-Borough-Council, however he wanted to represent the Kidsgrove residents who had elected him. Kyle-Noel Taylor is hoping to attend university in September to study Law.
