Kidsgrove this morning got to welcome the Olympic Torch as it passed through out area on the A500 at Talke. There were Kidsgrove residents waiting on the bridge at the Talke roundabout around 8am this morning to watch the Olympic Torch drive underneath them in convoy, which was heading off to Crewe and Congleton later in the day.
The flame would be back in its lantern after being taken from Hanley Museum to Middleport earlier this morning. It really does seem that the Olympic fever is catching the UK now and even in Kidsgrove with people watching the convoy travel along the A500.
It is a great shame that Kidsgrove Town Centre could not have witnessed the Olympic Torch paying a visit, however lets hope that come later on in the year Kidsgrove does something positive to mark the Olympic Games being held in the UK.
