Influential Kidsgrove Councillor Resigns Kidsgrove Town Council Post

kidgrove town Councillor Matthew Banner ResignsKidsgrove Town Councillor Mathew Banner has now resigned his post officially on Kidsgrove Town Council. Mr Banner who was a member of the UKIP party and represented the Talke Ward of Kidsgrove will be missed by many Kidsgrove residents, despite only being a member of Kidsgrove Town Council for one year.

Mr Banner has impressed many with his willingness to communicate on issues that have been impacting on the Kidsgrove area and not afraid to speak out when asked to comment. This is something that I (Bob Richards) quickly found to be the case with Mr Banner. What I also learnt was that he as a Kidsgrove Councillor who actually knew about Kidsgrove issues and was acting upon them.

Mr Banner was a popular member of Kidsgrove Town Council, however he has decided to leave to pursue new job opportunities, which no-one can begrudge. Mr Banner has a replacement lined up (Alex Wright), should Kidsgrove Town Council choose to co-opt this member on to Kidsgrove Town Council. The alternative would be for residents to call an election, something which members of Kidsgrove Town Council have been opposed to in the future.

We asked Mr Banner to share with us some of the achievements and some of the issues that he feels still need to be addressed in his ward in the future. He has listed these here.

You can also see a copy of the letter which Mr Banner presented to Kidsgrove Town Council here.
