Kidsgrove residents when voting on our online poll have overwhelmingly voiced their opinion that Kidsgrove Councillor Margaret Astle should had over he controversial and confusingly named Kidsgrove website to Kidsgrove Town Council.
The website which is owned by Kidsgrove Councillor Margaret Astle has been causing confusion as the domain name kidsgrovetowncouncil.co.uk is clearly misleading Kidsgrove residents into believing that this website has some official links to Kidsgrove Town Council. Our investigations also uncovered a Twitter account linked to this kidsgrovetowncouncil.co.uk with a description claiming to be part of Kidsgrove Town Council.
We are aware from the Kidsgrove Town Council minutes that this Kidsgrove Website was discussed at a Kidsgrove Council meeting and it was also reported that no action had been taken regarding this matter in the following months minutes. We did put some questions to the Kidsgrove Town Council Clerk about this matter, however these have not been answered.
However since we broke the story it appears that Kidsgrove Councillor Margaret Astle is taking some action on the website. She has changed the name to call it Kidsgrove Community Blog in which she is referring that it is the contribution of some of the members of the Kidsgrove Town Council website committee and could become part of the site in the future.
Let’s hope that Kidsgrove Councillor Margaret Astle goes one step further and hands over this site to Kidsgrove Town Council. Why would a Kidsgrove councillor who proclaims to care so much about Kidsgrove have any such objections? After all Margaret Astle is already has numerous local websites in the local area, which she regularly promotes on Labour Party election material.
